At the Mobile World Congress which was recently held in Barcelona we saw numerous new smartphones unveiled that combine excellent features with great design. One model that caught our eye was the impressive new Huawei Ascend D Quad. This model is developed by a Chinese company who are relatively new to the smartphone market but the device offers features that rivalled some of the big names such as HTC and Sony. We see what this great new phone boasts in terms of features and design.
The Huawei Ascend D Quad is a model that offers a very stylish and simple design which reminds us of the Samsung Galaxy S2. Despite incorporating a very large screen the model manages to measure just 8.9mm in depth which makes it one of the slimmest devices on the market. The corners of the phone are slightly rounded and the back panel sports some nice touches such as a red trim around the camera lens and a nicely textured finish. Although we have not been given the exact weight of the handset it certainly felt very light when we spent some time with the model.
A very high quality screen is one of the really attractive features of this new phone. At 4.5 inches the screen is one of the larger ones available but Huawei have managed to include a very high resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which helps ensure that the quality of image is superb. The pixel density of the screen is 326 which is around the same level as what the renowned Retina Display used on the iPhone 4S can offer. The screen uses the new Super IPS LCD 2 technology which helps it to offer excellent viewing angles and brilliant quality even in very bright conditions.
The Huawei Ascend D Quad uses a 1.5Ghz quad core processor to help it deliver exceptionally fast operation speeds. We were particularly impressed with the multi tasking features which are further enhanced by the excellent Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system that the phone uses. This new software enables the D Quad to boast some other clever features such as the option to unlock the device by simply looking into the front facing camera and also a redesigned user interface. This new software will be hugely attractive to many consumers as will many of the other superb features which include NFC technology and a massive 1GB of RAM memory. In terms of camera features the handset can snap photographs at 8 mega pixel resolution and record video at 1080P standard.
The Huawei Ascend D Quad is one of the most surprising handsets to be unveiled this year and also one of the very best. The model impresses in every department with excellent design, the latest software and powerful hardware. The model will prove popular with consumers looking for great specification at a wallet friendly price.
The Huawei Ascend D Quad is coming soon and the Sony Xperia S is available now.
