Innovative Design On The HTC One S

The HTC One S is one of the latest smartphone releases from the popular manufacturer, and as part of their new flagship 'One' range, users are treated to a top notch spec list. Among its features are a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera, and the long awaited 'Ice Cream Sandwich' version of Android as its operating system of choice.

The One S sits between the One X, the company's new flagship Android device, and the One V which is essentially the budget offering within the range. Therefore the HTC One S could be classed as a mid range smartphone, but its spec list is superior to most offerings from other manufacturers which are currently available.
Probably the most highly publicised feature of the HTC One S is its unibody design and more specifically the manufacturing process used to create it. In a video posted to YouTube by HTC, we see firsthand how the handset gets its ceramic coating. The first stereo is to shape a piece of aircraft grade aluminium which will become the phone's unibody. This is then 'shocked' with some 10,000 volts of electricity. This process is called micro arc oxidation, a microscopic chemical reaction which creates an attractive black finish on the handset, and one which HTC claims makes the phone's materials five times stronger than aerospace aluminium. The results look stylish and unique, with the added peace of mind that the phone is the toughest out there. Combined with its Corning Gorilla Glass display, the phone will handle occasionally being dropped, without worrying about damage to the screen or unibody.
Obviously, this is an impressive and very innovative feature, but the spec list of the phone impresses in many other areas. The Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' OS makes one of its first appearances on an HTC smartphone, and combined with the latest version of the Sense UI ensures an intuitive, customisable user experience, which is the best yet from any version of Android. The HTC One S also performs well as a camera phone, with its 8 megapixel camera which is of course capable of capturing 1080p videos, whilst web browsing speeds provided by the phone are among the fastest out there over a 3.5G network. Although the processing power falls short of the One X, the HTC One S has an awesome amount of processing power to run even the most demanding apps, quality graphics, and responsive touchscreen, thanks to its 1.5GHz dual-core chip.
There is a lot to like about the HTC One S, and although it is not the flagship model of the range, it looks set to be a popular device. It is available now on s number of UK networks, with O2, Orange and T-Mobile offering some notable deals which include the handset for free.
