How to Get a Verizon Cosmos Phone to Quit Locking When You Shut It

The LG Cosmos has two lock modes: The phone lock prevents unauthorized calls if you lose your phone. Whenever you turn the phone on, it prompts you for the security code. The keyguard lock prevents you from accidentally pressing keys while the phone is in a pocket or bouncing around inside a purse or bag. You can enable or disable the automatic phone lock and keyguard lock through the phone's menu.

Press the "OK" button to access the main menu.

Press "9" to open the Settings & Tools menu.

Press "8" to access the Phone Settings menu.

Press "7" to open the Security screen. The phone will prompt you for your security lock code. The default lock code is the last four digits of the phone number.

Press "3" to access the Phone Lock Settings menu.

Highlight "Unlocked" and press the "OK" button to confirm the selection.

If the phone is not programmed with a phone number, the lock code is the last four digits of the MEID number. You can find the MEID on a sticker underneath the battery.
